Thor: The Dark World Review (Spoiler Free)
We hit up the cinema on Thorsday (yes, I went there) to check out Thor: The Dark World, and figured we would share a few of our thoughts on the movie with you.
“Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.” (description from IMdB)
The movie opens by setting up the background for the story. With a battle scene from centuries before, between the Asgards and the Dark Elves.
There was so much to the story that I simply don’t know how to explain without spoilers, so I will just tell you what we thought about it over all.
I was honestly riveted to the screen the whole time. It was visually stunning, the music was perfect, the acting was spot on, and we enjoyed the story. It had some twists and turns that we were not expecting, and there were even some surprising laugh out loud moments. One I would love to talk about, and even though it’s not a story spoiler, it’s something I think you’d appreciate more without knowing what it is. The only complaint that comes to mind is I feel there could have been more Malekith. And even though I loved the humor, I’d be fine if there was a little less of it.
We were super excited to see this movie, and we were not disappointed with it. We thought it was fantastic. We very highly recommend that you go see Thor: The Dark World at the cinema! If I had the money, I’d be going to see it again.
Make sure to stick around after the movie for the 2 scenes during the credits.
One thing you might want to check out before seeing the movie is the graphic novel, Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World Prelude.
