Quick Review: Zack Snyder’s Justice League
The first thing I want to point out is that, this is obviously not the version we would have gotten in theaters. So I can’t help but wonder how would this 4 hour long movie would have been cut down for a normal theatrical run.
I’m not sure what my expectations were when I sat down, with a fellow Awkward Geek, to watch this movie, but the next day neither one of us found it very memorable. I do know I was looking forward to it, and I wanted to like it. Unfortunately I spent the entire movie going between feeling overwhelmed, and occasionally bored, I even dozed off a couple times (yet every year I can sit through a marathon of LotR extended editions, with no problem).
One of my biggest problems, with many of the DC movies, is their ability to mess up a story, turning it into a convoluted mess. This one was no different… Except it lasted for FOUR HOURS. One of my other problems with DC movies is the lack of chemistry between characters, and that was on full display in this movie… A movie that had FOUR HOURS to give these characters some chemistry, yet failed miserably.
If you really love DC, and want to watch it, then it’s probably worth checking out. Other than that, I wouldn’t suggest this mess to anyone.
