Musical Episodes
Sometimes a non-musical TV Show will decide to play around with a musical episode, and I love it. I grew up watching a lot of musicals, so this probably feeds into my childhood love of that genre. It’s also probably why I was drawn to watching Galavant (if you haven’t seen it yet, watch it. Now!)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Once More with Feeling
Probably the best musical episode ever. Joss certainly knows his stuff. He did also go on to write Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog, which was amazing, in my humble opinion.
Psych
Psych: The Musical
Psych is always a lot of silly fun, which is one of the reasons it’s one of my favorite shows. The musical episode was not a disappointment. And of course Timothy Omundson has now gone on to do more musical episodes with Galavant.
Xena: Warrior Princess
The Bitter Suite and Lyre, Lyre, Hearts on Fire
So much cheesy fun. Joss Whedon is often credited for being the first to make a musical episode of a TV Show, but Robert Tapert actually did it before him. Twice.
Fringe
Brown Betty
Not the best musical episode, but it did have its moments, and the noir theme makes it enjoyable to watch.
