Geek Fashion: Hunter (Supernatural)
Saving people. Hunting things. The Family Business.
For Halloween last year I decided I was going to be a “hunter” from Supernatural, using whatever I had in my closet. I didn’t do too bad, jeans and t-shirt are simple enough, and to round out the look I had a plaid shirt (it was pink, so I only posted a picture in black and white so it wouldn’t be noticeable, lol), a green denim jacket, boots, and my anti-demon possession necklace. You kind of get the idea in the pic below.
With convention season coming up, even though I am not going this year, I started to wonder what I would wear if I put more thought into it. I think one of the best places to put together a look like this is to hit up thrift stores, but for this post I just went to online stores to get an idea. It’s not much different than what I already did with what I had in my closet, but it is an “update” to my Supernatural hunter look. This post won’t include any links, as I don’t want to give money to certain companies, instead it’s just pictures. Also, I’m looking at stuff within my budget, so nothing here is expensive. I’m trying to keep this as a realistic goal, if I had unlimited funds, I’d probably have different ideas.
I wasn’t going to bother with jeans in the post, because I didn’t see the point, but then I found a pair I felt like I would wear as a hunter. Hiking boots seemed like the best thing for me, rugged, and comfortable. Part of my look, with the jacket and jeans, is about the pockets. I mean, think about it. Carrying a bag around when you’re hunting isn’t very convenient, so we’re gonna need pockets, but sometimes our hunters do carry bags, so I looked at crossbody hiking bags. Also, we are going to need a duffle bag for all our other stuff (no pic of that)
My look is pretty basic, but I think fans of the show would totally get it.
