Binge Watch: Impastor
TV Land’s Impastor is the best binge watch worthy show you probably haven’t seen. You should fix that. Seriously, don’t even bother to finish reading this, just go watch the show.
Brief Description:
Buddy Dobbs (Michael Rosenbaum), a slacker on the run from a loan shark, steals a man’s identity and ends up posing as a small town’s new gay pastor.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Buddy has a knack for making bad decisions, getting himself into trouble, and somehow back out of it. It’s kind of a vicious cycle for the lovable con man. You’ll find your self laughing, and cringing, at some of the awkward positions Buddy finds himself in.
Desperate, and on the run, a freak accident gives Buddy the opportunity to pose as a gay pastor in a small town. What was meant to be a brief con turns into a more long term situation once Buddy is taken in by the charm of the small town, and the people who live there. But all of that could be ruined if, or when, his past catches up to him.
The rest of the main cast is filled out with the sweet, naive Dora (Sara Rue), the suspicious Alden Schmidt (David Rasche), sexy and smart Alexa (Mircea Monroe), and the enthusiastic Russell (who has a massive crush on Pastor Buddy).
Impastor is an adult comedy, not meant for the easily offended. It’s pure silly fun, with a dark twist. Michael Rosenbaum is a real treat to watch, and he shines in his role as Buddy Dobbs.
